Incredible multi-specimen plate of Eurypterus remipes from the Upper Silurian, Fiddler Green Formation, Lang’s Quarry, Herkimer County, New York State.

The specimens range in size as follows:

The plate size is: 8.5 “x 6.5”

Exquisite piece, all three specimens have paddles and telson (tail), very well preserved and appendages with eyes protruding on one specimen. Multi-specimen plates like these are becoming rare and hard to find. A great piece for the discerning collector.

Eurypterids are arthropods commonly referred to as "sea scorpions", due to their long segmented bodies, large limb-like appendages (Appendages number VI) that extend from under the head shield (Prosoma) and what appears to be a sharp pointed tail (Telson).

Eurypterus remipes Until 1882 no eurypterids were known from before the Silurian. Contemporary discoveries since the 1880s have expanded the knowledge of early eurypterids from the Ordovician period. The earliest eurypterids known today, the megalograptid Pentecopterus, date from the Darriwilian stage of the Middle Ordovician, 467.3 million years ago. There are also reports of even earlier fossil eurypterids in the Fezouata Biota of Late Tremadocian (Early Ordovician) age in Morocco, but these have yet to be thoroughly studied.

Armilimax pauljamisoni from the Middle Cambrian, Spence Shale, Wellsville Mtns, Box Elder Co., Utah.

Armilimax pauljamisoni is the first shell-bearing animal of its kind from the Great Basin and extends the diversity of body plans in the Spence Shale Fossil-Lagerstätte.

The morphology of Armilimax is ambiguous; it bears a seemingly U-shaped gut and, at the opposite end of its body, a shell without an apex. It has been tentatively interpreted as resembling Halkieria, but it does not contain sclerites. It is the first of its kind in the Great Basin. Only one species is known: Armilimax pauljamisoni.

Also on the piece of shale are Acrothele subsidua and Micromitra modesta, which are two genus of brachiopods. Thee are also impressions of Rusophycus, an ichnogenus of trace fossil.
